The Dominica Labour Party has won 18 of 21 seats in the December 6th general election.
The preliminary results show a lanslide victory for the DLP over the United Workers Party.
DLP gained three additional seats,
Wesley, Roseau South and Roseau Central.
The wife of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, Melissa Poppone-Skerrit, claimed victory in the Roseau Central constituency, a strong hold of the UWP.
Among the casualties for the opposition United Workers Party (UWP) is its deputy leader, attorney at law, Joshua Francis who lost his Roseau South seat to newcomer Cherika Lockhart Hypolite.
