BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) — The police are investigating the assault and robbery of Foreign Affairs Minister Senator Maxine McClean.
The police report that McClean was using an automated teller machine (ATM) on Saturday afternoon when she was approached by a masked gunman who struck her in the face and fled with her handbag.
The incident occurred shortly after 3:00 pm (Barbados time).
The police have since issued an appeal to the public to provide information that can assist with the investigation.
