Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Hon. Gaston Browne has donated 100 thousand EC dollars towards the operation of the Five Islands campus of the University of the West Indies.
Browne has led by example and is urging other individuals and corporations to contribute in support of the campus.
In addition to the Prime Minister’s contribution, the Hadeed Group has also contributed 500 thousand EC dollars.
According to ABS Television, an advance payment of 10 million EC dwill be made to the campus in the next two weeks. 90 per cent of the 10 million has already been raised.
The fourth landed campus located in Antigua is expected to open in September with a roll of 800 students.
