Anguilla beats Nevis: Hitting the first century of the tournament, Chesney Hughes helped Anguilla defeat Nevis by 3 wickets to record their first victory in the tournament.

Batting first, Nevis compiled 285 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs.

Captain Adelvin Philip topped scored for Nevis with 90 runs off 60 deliveries. His innings included 10 fours and 4 sixes. Saeed Williams contributed 63 off 83 balls.

From all reports, Anguilla aggressively pursued the target. With the loss of Hodge early, Keacey Carty contributed significantly. He scored 70 runs from only 36 deliveries with 6 sixes and 4 fours. Hughes’ innings of 104 comprised of 12 fours off 120 balls. Asharn Hodge’s innings of 55 guided Anguilla home in the 44th over.

Hughes match winning innings earned him the Man-of-the-Match award.

Matches continue today with Montserrat against Anguilla at Salem Park and Saint Maarten vs Nevis at Little Bay.
