Young teens were presented with awards to highlight their achievements, commitments and contributions to their school, community, Church, sports and self advancement/empowerment.
At a ceremony held at the Parliamentary Chambers, parents, teens, family members and other special invited guests witnessed the presentation of awards to the nation’s 25 Remarkable Teens.
They were presented with their awards by members of Parliament namely Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris, Hon. Shawn K. Richards, Hon. Eugene Hamilton, Hon. Vance Amory, Hon. Denzil Douglas, Hon. Marcella Liburd, Hon. Ian Liburd, Hon. Patrice Nisbett, Senator Wendy C. Phipps, Senator Vincent Byron, Senator Akilah Byron Nisbett, Senator Nigel Carty, Hon. Mark Brantley, Hon. Konris Maynard and Hon. Lindsay Grant.

Prior to the presentation of awards Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Michael Perkins made welcome remarks followed by remarks from Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture – Hon. Shawn Richards.
During the presentation of awards, former Remarkable teens and Caricom youth Ambassadors read the profiles of the awardees.
The teens comprised of eleven young women and 14 young men. Carlon Bowen Tuckett was the youngest receipient among this year’s awardees and was one of five Nevisians presented with the youth award.
At age 14, the young cricketer has played for the Leeward Islands and West Indies at the junior level.
Zidane Knight who recently received commendations for her 13 distinctions and two grade Two’s in the Caribbean Examintions – CXC was also among the awardees.
