Basseterre, St. Kitts (SKN PULSE): A tourist who was visiting St. Kitts aboard a cruise ship Saturday (May 6), reportedly died while diving at an undisclosed location.
SKN PULSE understands that a group of tourists said to be from the United States were out at sea enjoying an afternoon of adventure when tragedy struck.
Unconfirmed reports are that the tour was conducted by Pro Divers.
While details are sketchy, our source indicates that the incident occurred around 2:30 pm.
The diving operator(s) usually take tourists and locals alike 5 miles out in deep water to enjoy the leisure activity.
The deceased who was identified as an American male, was a passenger on the Disney Magic which is operated by Disney Cruise Lines. The ship at the time was calling in St. Kitts as a part of a 7 night Southern Caribbean cruise.
Port Zante was the last port of call for the Disney Magic. The vessel returned to it’s port of origin last evening, Sunday 7th May, (Puerto Rico).
Members from the Crime Unit of The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force were summoned to the scene.
The Police Press Relations Unit have yet to confirm the incident.
