The court ruled in favour of the SOL Island Auto Conaree Football Club; Docked Points Restored.
The decision rendered yesterday restored the club’s 24 points that was deducted as a result of sanctions by the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association.
Friday’s ruling means that Conaree is now in 5th position and are in the Top Six teams to advance to the Super 6.
Originally when the deduction was executed the team had 36 points. The deduction saw them drop to the 9th position in the standings.
36-24=12 | 12+3+1+24=40
According to a credible source, the statues of the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association doesn’t provide clear guidelines for an arbitration body, hence the result.
A statement released with the heading: ‘Docked Points Restored to Conaree FC’ by the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association outlined the actions taken as a result of a player’s action:
The SKNFA Executive Committee has imposed on your club a sanction of a 24-point deduction in the National Bank Premier League (2018-2019 Points Table) for failure to conduct itself properly, in particular the control of its players, and adherence to the principles of “Fair Play” in SKNFA matches. Further, the Executive Committee has imposed a Transfer Ban on the SOL Island Auto Conaree for the 2019-2020 SKNFA football season. The transfer ban prevents the club from registering any new player during the said period, except players who are already registered with the club in other SKNFA leagues. The above sanctions shall come into force with immediate effect,” the Association indicated in its letter to the club.
The SKNFA press statement failed to acknowledge any update in scores or address the decision rendered.
