SKN PULSE – The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has laid a charge against the driver of the jeep that caused the death of one young man and sending another to the hospital.
The driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Nathan Chiverton of Carifesta Village, earlier this week was brought before the magistrate court and was granted bail in the amount of $20,000.
Chiverton was driving a jeep along the island’s main road in New Guinea on Saturday night (July 1) around 9:30; the motor vehicle ran off the road and slammed into a tree.
Two passengers were thrown from the vehicle upon impact and the passengers were transported to the J N France hospital. One of the passengers, Damion Hutton was pronounced dead, and his brother, Nefon is currently warded at JNF in serious condition.
Chiverton was taken into custody following the accident and charged accordingly. He is scheduled to return to court on August 14th.
