St. Kitts copped the award for Cruise Destination of the year in the sixth edition of the Caribbean Travel Awards 2020 announced by Carib Journal.
The 68 square mile island which forms part of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, has been committed to Tourism Development. This year, the island reached a million visitors for the second consecutive year.
With St. Kitts aggressively marketing the destination, Carib Journal penned:
St. Kitts is one of the smaller countries in the region, it has long punched above its weight in the ultra-competitive Caribbean tourism industry, most notably with a continually strong showing in the cruise sector.
With an additional pier soon to open, Carib Journal opined that Port Zante is a terrific, full-service cruise port, offering great shopping to a gateway for serious adventure.
A visit to St. Kitts affords visitors the opportunity to splash in warm, iridescent waters along pristine island shores, visit historical sites such as Brimstone Hill Fortress and National Park, The War Memorial and Fairview Guest House and Botanical Gardens.
This year’s Caribbean Travel Awards includes winners across 21 categories, selected by Caribbean Journal’s editorial staff and its network of contributors.
According to Alexander Britell, editor and publisher of Caribbean Journal, the Caribbean Travel Awards honours hotels, destinations, experiences and, most importantly, people that make the Caribbean the greatest travel destination on earth.
