St. Kitts and Nevis’ Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Hazel Laws, announced two days ago, that another confirmed imported case of COVID-19 was recorded.
This takes the total number of active cases to 3. So far, a total of 26 cases has been recorded with 23 cases officially recovered. There has been zero COVID-19 related deaths.
At the December 09, 2020, COVID-19 Briefing by the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), Dr. Laws revealed that the 26th confirmed case landed in the Federation on November 25, from the United States of America.
The individual was quarantined in Nevis and is now in isolation.
Since the borders were reopened, the COVID-19 cases have increased from 19 to 26. This is the fourth announced case since a December 05 press release from the Ministry of Health stated that three imported cases were detected.
Dr Laws stated:
We now have three persons in isolation.
I want to assure the general public that these additional imported cases have been in quarantine since they arrived on the Federation.

The Chief Medical Officer noted that testing continues. As of yesterday (December 09), 4,335 persons have been tested for the novel coronavirus. There are five results pending.
