SKN PULSE,  Tuesday 29, November, 2016 – Trinidad and Tobago Red Force and the Leeward Islands Hurricanes were left frustrated as their third round encounter was mostly affected by heavy rainfall.

Umpires carried out a number of inspections during the third round encounter at the Queen’s Park Oval but to no avail.  The outfield was just unfit for play so officials were forced to abandon day 4.

92 overs were bowled in the game. The first day was completely abandoned, (Friday) and only 57 overs were bowled on the second day. While 35 overs were bowled on the third day.

Having won the toss,  the Hurricanes sent Red Force to bat first. With a 100 plus partnership stance before the first wicket,  Trinidad showed early intentions that they were competing to win. However,  the fall of 4 wickets hampered the Trinidad momentum. Trinidad were set to resume on 287 for eight. Opening batsman Kyle Hope scored 86 while debutants left hander Isaiah Rajah made 69.

Former West Indies opening batsman and Leeward Islands captain and bowler,  Kieran Powell finished with three for 29 while off-spinner Rahkeem Cornwall bagged two for 73. Cornwall now has a tally of 19 wickets for the season.

Hurricanes picked up 5.2 points while Red Force ended with 5 points.

RED FORCE 287 for eight (Kyle Hope 86, Isaiah Rajah 69, Roshon Primus 42 not out, Jyd Goolie 23; Kieran Powell 3-29, Rahkeem Cornwall 2-73) vs HURRICANES.
