SKELEC PRESS RELEASE:
On Saturday 03rd August at approximately 10:20am a major internal fault occurred at the Needsmust Power Station resulting in the loss of load to several areas around the island. The fault would subsequently result in a total system shutdown (Island wide outage) at 10:30am.
Engineers and technicians were successful in carrying out emergency repairs and as such were able to begin the restoration process with the closure of the SSMC feeder at 12:03pm. Full system restoration was completed at 03:48pm.
