Recap as investigation launched after multiple shootings and 20th homicide

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 18, 2017 (SKN PULSE):  A murder investigation has been launched after the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force discovered the lifeless body of a Craddock Road resident yesterterday afternoon in Gingerland.  



The incident took place on Friday 17, November 2017. Responding to reports of shots heard in Zetlands Village at about 2:30(pm), police discovered the lifeless body of Lincoln ‘Bongo’ Liburd of Craddock, Charlestown.  



According to a press release from the Police Public Relations Unit, the body bore signs of what seemed to be gunshot injuries. The District Medical Doctor, Shandy Jacobs, was summoned to the scene and pronounced the man dead. 


 

Two other shootings preceded the shooting death in Gingerland, Nevis. One in Cotton Ground and the other in Dieppe Bay. 



Investigations are ongoing as it relates to shots been fired after workmen who were gainfully engaged on their jobsite. Two masked gunmen exited a vehicle and fired a number of shots at some of the workmen who all fled the scene. While no one was reported injured a release from the Police Public Relations Unit stated that a large number of spent cartridges were found and collected.

 

Moreover, investigations are ongoing with regards to a second shooting incident in Dieppe Bay that occurred about 8:30a.m. 



According to the Police Public Relations Unit realease, Kassim Buchanan of Farm Site, Sandy Point was walking on the road towards the Dieppe Bay Police Station when an assailant, dressed in dark clothing, came from an abandoned house on Main Street, Dieppe Bay and ran after him, firing several shots.  Buchanan was not injured. The Police officers from the Dieppe Bay Police Station and the Crime Scene Unit responded and were able to collect a number of items of evidential value. 



One suspect is in custody assisting the police with their investigation.
