The annual Ivor Walters Primary School Inter-Village Football Championship sponsored by Tito Chapman took place on the grounds of the Ivor Walters Primary School, on 21st November, 2019.
Five teams consisting of students within the school hailing from different villages competed. The teams represented were as follows:
Cherry Garden- the defending champions, Prospect, Combined, Brownhill and Cane Garden. For the first time, each team included one female player.
In the 1st match-off, the Combined Team came up against Brownhill and that game ended, 1-0 in favour of Combined . The 2nd match was played between Cherry Garden and Cane garden, with Cane Garden defeating the reigning champions 1-0. The next face-off was played by Prospect versus Brownhill, with the game ending 1-0 in favour of Prospect. The next match ended in a draw with Combined versus Cane Garden. Prospect then faced-off with the defending champions, Chery Garden and defeated them, 1-0.
Each team was given an opportunity to play twice, however, in the end, three (3) teams were tied on points (Combined, Prospect and Cane Garden) so the two teams sent to the Finals were determined by goal difference. These teams were Combined and Propect. It was a stiff competition but in the end Prospect dominated the championship and came out victors with a 1-0 scoreline.
The matches were refereed by the two male coaches- Mr. Hakeem Harvey and Mr. Kendell Fahie.
