Kieran Powell, the Nevisian, Leeward Islands and former West Indies opening batsman enjoyed an extremely productive season in the recently concluded Colonial Medical Insurance Super 50 tournament.
The 29 year-old Nevisian batsman amassed a total of 525 runs which included two centuries and two half centuries. This is the second time Powell has scored more than 500 runs in his List A career. Only three times this has been done by any batsman, (twice by Powell – 2017 and 2019). Powell was the only batsman to score over 500 runs.
With an average of 58.33, Powell won the Richie Richardson Award for scoring the Most Runs in the tournament.
Powell who lost his place in the West Indies team has certainly sent a strong reminder to the West Indies selectors.
Through this medium we at SKNPULSE would like to congratulate Kieran and wish him every success in his endeavors.
