The Dominica Labour Party is readying itself for elections constitutionally due in 2020.
At the party’s Londonderry Delegates Conference, Prime Minister Skerrit announced 13 new Candidates. Among the several new candidates named is wife of Dominica’s Prime Minister, Melissa Skerrit, the new care-taker for Roseau Central.
In his presentation, Skerrit said:
Your fresh looking Dominica Labour Party is a change that Dominica needs at this time. We have presented to you…the fresh faces of change in Dominican politics. I appeal to the family of Labour to embrace this fresh group of patriots.
They are all success stories ladies and gentlemen. None of them is looking for a job. None of them is seeking economic opportunity. None of them can be considered, far less regarded as failures. These are young bright Dominicans in whom all can be pleased.
The new changes affects Ministers of Government: Petter St. Jean, Dr. Colin McIntyre, Johnson Drigo, Cassius Darroux, Justina Charles among others.
