BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS,  July 27th 2017 – Park Hyatt St. Kitts at Christophe Harbour has announced the opening of the island’s first luxury beach resort and the first Park Hyatt hotel in the Caribbean region, scheduled to debut on November 1, 2017.

The agreement for the construction of the five-star Park Hyatt St. Kitts was signed by then St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas in Dubai in 2012. The ground breaking for construction of the high-end resort was held on June 3rd 2013.

The 126-room resort spans the secluded beach of Banana Bay at the foot of the island’s lush rolling hills. This exciting new resort enables guests to discover this idyllic island in the West Indies through sophisticated design, art, culinary experiences and immersive excursions. Home to three signature restaurants, a destination resort spa and wellness center, and indoor and outdoor event spaces, the resort launches the unparalleled and unique Park Hyatt experience to the Caribbean.

All 78 rooms and 48 suites overlook the golden sandy beach of Banana Bay. Sustainably designed with local materials and unique water features throughout, Park Hyatt St. Kitts echoes the island’s rich heritage and culture, and seamlessly intertwines contemporary architecture and colonial design. Each room’s chic décor showcases views of the Caribbean Sea and the islands beyond, with luxurious touches such as private balconies and terraces, local artwork, rain-showers and deep soaking tubs. Premium suites feature private rooftop swimming pools and sundecks. The three-bedroom Presidential Villa is the ultimate indulgence for discerning guests, equipped with a private infinity pool, wellness area, personal butler and private chef.

“We are honoured to be so warmly welcomed into the St. Kitts & Nevis community and are strongly committed to being a key partner in the growth of this exciting destination,” says Julian Moore, General Manager of Park Hyatt St. Kitts. “We are delighted to introduce our guests to the unique Park Hyatt experience with a unique island element embracing the vibrant culture, history and people that define the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis.”

At the groundbreaking ceremony on 3rd June 2013, then St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Dr. Douglas said the decision to establish a Park Hyatt Hotel in St. Kitts was in keeping with his Government’s commitment to expand the number of high-end resorts and boutique hotels, not only to enhance the Federation’s appeal to stay-over travelers, but more importantly, to ensure that the stay-over visitors travelling to St. Kitts and Nevis would be able to have the type of overall impact that is being sought.

Serving Minister of Tourism, Sen. the Hon. Ricky Skerritt was praised by Dr Douglas for his vision and his skill at leveraging the unique attributes of St. Kitts to benefit those who live on St Kitts and Nevis.

Skerritt said the collaboration between Range Developments, the developers of Christophe Harbour, Park Hyatt, and St. Kitts really represents a very good marriage.

“Your Government has ‘worketh like hell’ in recent years to build the partnership and co-ordination necessary to achieve this development. We have been working especially hard to attract credible investors to undertake a number of economically and socially beneficial projects in the Southeast peninsula and elsewhere. As was predicted to be a critical need by Dr. Towle, this Park Hyatt resort project is the result of the coming together of a number of international and local individuals and groups, partnering with Government in order for this development to actually happen,” said Sen. Skerritt.

The Park Hyatt St. Kitts is one of the many St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) Government-initiated projects which were under completion when it left office in mid-February 2015.
