The People’s Action Movement has confirmed the arrest of its candidate for Constituency #2,  Nubian Greaux. Greaux was arrested earlier this morning in connection with an alleged controlled substance.

PAM issued an official press statement acknowledging that the authorities executed a search at Greaux’s residence on suspicion of controlled drugs, arms and ammunition.

The People’s Action Press Statement Reads as follows:

The People’s Action Movement (PAM) acknowledges reports that our Candidate for Constituency #2, Mr. Nubian Greaux, was the subject of a police search earlier today. We understand that the search was conducted on suspicion of controlled drugs, arms, and ammunition, and that Mr. Greaux has since been arrested in connection with an alleged controlled substance.

At the outset, PAM emphasizes a fundamental principle of the law in St. Kitts and Nevis: every person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Mr. Greaux is entitled to due process, the protection of his constitutional rights, and a fair and impartial hearing.

We expect that all actions taken by law enforcement authorities will strictly comply with the law, including the proper execution of search powers, adherence to established procedures, and full respect for the rights of citizens. The integrity of the process is as important as the outcome.

PAM is in the process of ascertaining the full facts surrounding this matter. We will be guided by those facts and by our commitment to accountability, fairness, and the rule of law.

We urge the public to avoid speculation or premature conclusions and to allow the legal process to proceed without prejudice.

The People’s Action Movement remains committed to upholding the principles of justice, transparency, and responsible leadership.
