SKN PULSE – Nevis’ main Opposition Party, NRP has started to unveil their agenda for the upcoming election cycle which is due in January of 2018.
With just 5 months and days remaining in 2017, the election campaign is set to get into high gear after the Culturama celebrations. However, the Nevis Reformation Party is seemingly roaring and ready to go. They have started to engage the general public with their Townhall meetings and they have started to launch their plans going forward: one of which includes a Rent to Own Home initiative.
Such an initiative would allow potential buyers to move into a house (maybe even their dream home) while getting their finances in order to purchase the home several years in the future.
The Rent to Own Housing initiative will be undertaken in every Parish according to party leader, the Hon. Joseph Parry.
Mr. Parry, who was one of the special guests on Tell Me, (Thursday 6th) which is hosted by Carlisle Powell and Mr. Weekes, (Tulu) said “it takes the strain off parents and it gives young persons an avenue to own a piece of the pie”.
The prospective idea affords persons desirous of owning their own home to avoid the huge burden of going to the bank right away because there isn’t any down payment towards the purchase. One caller insists that coming up with the down payment for a house is often difficult so the initiative is one must that must be carried out.
While full details aren’t readily available, an idea such as this would have many potential home owners thinking; considering the fact that loans are becoming very time consuming and difficult to source.
