Nevis’ First Woman Acting Deputy Governor General To Be Sworn In On Friday

SKN PULSE – A new acting Deputy Governor General is slated to be sworn in for Nevis on Friday 1st, September, 2017.  His Excellency, The Governor General Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton GCMG, CVO, QC, JP will preside over the swearing in ceremony on Nevis. 

The ceremony will take place at the High Court in Charlestown. His Lordship The Hon. Mr. Justice Rrevir Ward, QC will administer The Oath of Allegiance and The Oath of Office to Mrs. Majorie Morton, CSM. 

According to an official press release from Government House, Her Honour, Mrs. Majorie Morton will act in office of Deputy Governor-General from the 1st of September, 2017 to 31st of December, 2017. 

The release further states that, Her Honour, Mrs. Morton brings a wealth of experience to her new post having served earlier as a Permanent Secretary, Clerk of the Nevis Island Assembly and later as President of the Nevis Island Assembly.
