Each of us is carving a stone, erecting a column, or cutting a piece of stained glass in the construction of something much bigger than ourselves, (Adrienne Clarkson); through the Ministry of Communications in collaboration with the Department of Physical Planning, Contractors were awarded for their valuable contributions to building Nevis at the Inaugural Contractors Award Ceremony.
The ceremony was held last week Saturday 02 November at the Nevis Performing Arts Centre (NEPAC) under the theme “Recognizing the Industry’s Performers”.
Eight honorees recevived the Life Time Achivement Award.
Receiving the award were Louis Beaupirre, Errol Blake, Analdo Vincent Chiverton, Eustace Hunkins, Noral Lescott, Orville Liburd and Edrick Pemberton.
Other awards inlcuded the Excellence Award, the Long Standing Award, (Plumbers and Electricians) and the Honorary Award for contractors who are deceased.

Recognising the industry’s performers is an initiative welcomed by the Contractors. Posthumous Awards were presented to the family of the late Cromwell Martin, the late Leroy Lescott and the late Greville Weekes.
Presenting the awards were Deputy Governor General, Her Honour Hyleta Liburd.
In attendance were Minister of Communications and Works, Hon. Spencer Brand, Premier of Nevis, Hon. Mark Brantley and other top government officials.
The featured address for the evening was delivered by former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Communications and Works, Mr. Pearlievan Wilkin.
