Monroe College Susan Ejore Signs National Letter Of Intent With The University of Oregon

New Rochelle, N.Y. – Monroe College sophomore sensation  Susan Ejore is set to compete in the PAC – 10 Conference next season.

Susan has signed a national letter of intent to run  cross country and track for the University of Oregon, Eugene next season.  Ejore will earn her Associate Degree at Monroe’s Commencement ceremony in June before taking her talents to Eugene to compete for the Ducks in the fall of 2017.

The Nakuru, Kenyan native earned All-American honors in seven different events: Cross Country, 800m, 1000m, 1500m  , Mile, Distance Medley relay and 3200m- relay. Additionally, she won a total of five events at both the indoor and outdoor NJCAA national Championships. Events include  1000m, 1500, Mile, 4x800m and Distance Medley.

Why Oregon?

“That’s just where I felt more comfortable,” Ejore. “Louisville  and Oregon  are both great schools, but for me and what I want to do I just felt that Oregon  was a better fit. I connected more with the people there.”

Monroe College Head Cross Country coach / track and field’s Assistant Coach, Shirvon Greene, reflected on the signing, saying, “Ejore is a world-class athlete who excels in many different events. She will bring a winning pedigree with her to the already-elite Oregon  program.”

The  University of Oregon is a member of the NCAA Division I  PAC10 Conference.  The school is based in Eugene Oregon ,and carries an annual enrollment of approximately 24, 125.  Ejore  will start there in the Fall semester of 2017.

This past season, Ejore set numerous school records for cross country and also for  indoor and outdoor track as well. During cross country Ejore set 5 course records including capturing  her second straight  regional title. In 2015 she placed third at the National championship and at the most recently concluded national championship she placed second.

As far as her track career Ejore set numerous records for both the Indoor and outdoor season in the following events ( 800m, 1000m 1500m, Mile and 3k ). Ejore also is a two time Athlete of the year for the atlantic region and  also appeared in Sports Illustrated as  well , faces in the crowd.
