Basseterre, SKN PULSE – The Leeward Islands Hurricanes have advanced to the semi-finals of the 2017 edition of the WICB Regional Super50 Tournament.
Earlier today the Hurricanes beat the West Indies Under-19s by 8 wickets, in their Group A encounter at the Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium in Antigua.
A united Leeward Islands continues to impress with the bat and ball this season. Akeal Hosein went to work as the Leewards bowled out the West Indies Under-19s for 78. Hosein finished with 4 wickets for 7 runs. Jason Campbell and Alzarri Joseph chipped in with two wickets a piece.
The Hurricanes reached their target in 16.5 overs. Wicket-keeper batsman, Jahmar Hamilton topped scored with 42 not out while opener Montcin Hodge was not out on 31.
Leeward Islands won by eight wickets. With the win the home side qualified for the semi-finals.
