SKN PULSE, Friday 23 December, 2016 – St. Lucia and the wider Caribbean region mourns as the news of Sir Dwight Venner passing circulates, (he passed away in St. Lucia last night).

According to sources, Sir. Dwight Venner died overnight at Tapion Hospital in Castries.No details are yet available about the circumstances surrounding his death.

An economist by training Venner contributed significantly to St. Lucia and the Caribbean Region.
 
He served as the Director of Finance and planning in the St. Luican Government between 1981 to 1989. Following that he served as Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank for 26 years spanning from December 1989 to November 2015. 

Venner’s contribution has been significant. From accolades to personal achievements he made his mark and left his print.
