A Rising Star Shines: Kittitian Dimetre Browne is currently ranked 2nd in the NJCAA. The Hutchinson Community College sophomore broke a meet record on Saturday and posted the fourth-best indoor long jump in Blue Dragon men’s track and field history.
On Tuesday, Browne was named the Jayhawk Conference men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Browne won the Washburn Rust Buster men’s long jump on Saturday in Topeka with a career-best jump of 24 feet, 3.85 inches (7.41m). That was a meet-record jump, he won by a whopping 2.75 inches.
His previous career best we 23-9.25 set last season. Browne was an NJCAA Indoor Long Jump All-American in 2022.
Browne qualified for the 2023 NJCAA Indoor Championships. Currently, Browne is the #2 long jumper in the country.
