Defending Leeward Islands Debating champions, team Nevis, will face St. Kitts tonight, Saturday 29th February in the semi-final of the 48th Annual Leeward Islands Debating Competition.
Having won in 2017, 2018 and 2019, three peat champions, Nevis is confident that they can win and so too is team St. Kitts. As both teams vie for a spot in the final, it is expected that the majority of nationals would be tuned in.
Nevis will propose the moot: ‘The technological age has caused severe dilution of authentic Caribbean culture.’
The competition climaxes on Sunday night with the final debate. Anguilla will face the winner of tonight’s debate.
Sunday’s Moot: The prevalence of chronic diseases, supersedes unemployment as a significant hindrance to Caribbean development.’
