Christmas Armed Robbery leaves 1 Police Officer with ‘non-life-threatening’ injury

Police on Nevis are investigating an early Christmas morning armed robbery at a residence in the Hamilton area.

Police say an officer identified as Corporal Cleon Michael was shot in his leg in the Hamilton area around 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 25.

According to reports, when proprietor of Clarke’s One Stop located in Gingerland, (Market Shop) arrived at his residence in Hamilton, he was held at gun point. Escorted home by police:

The police noticed that they were held at the door and shouted out police. They fired a shot passing over the heads of Clarke and his son and shot the police in his leg.

Michael is presently warded at the the Alexandra Hospital in stable condition.

Police have confirmed two persons are currently in custody assisting with Investigations.
