TYRA FENTON WINS GOLD ON DAY 1 IN GRENADA

Sprinter Tyra Fenton won Antigua and Barbuda’s first gold medal at the 2026 Carifta Games in Grenada. Fenton was decleared the winner after a photo finish in the Under-17 Girls 100 metres on Saturday.

Fenton clocked 11.30, the same time as Jazae Johnson of The Bahamas, but Fenton secured the gold when their times were separated by thousandths of a second.

Brion Ward of The Bahamas secured the bronze medal in 11.63.

So far, Fenton has won two medals, a bronze and a gold.
