Abuja, Nigeria, 27th March 2026 — A significant milestone has been achieved for small business development and export expansion in St. Kitts and Nevis, as local entrepreneur Mother Becky Tea Quenchers successfully entered the Nigerian market through a direct export initiative facilitated by the Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship et al.
The entrepreneur, Mr. Jermine Mike, owner of Mother Becky Tea, was the beneficiary of a strategic opportunity to export his locally produced beverages to Abuja, Nigeria, where they were featured at the Aquarian Consult Afri-Caribbean Investment Summit. During the summit, over 3,000 bottles of Mother Becky Tea Quenchers were served to hundreds of attendees, marking the largest single order in the company’s history.

This achievement represents a major step forward in connecting local agri-processors to international markets and demonstrates the real potential for direct trade between St. Kitts and Nevis and Africa.
The opportunity was made possible through the deliberate and coordinated efforts of the Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship et al, working in close collaboration with Ms. Aisha Maina and the Aquarian Consult team. Together, they ensured that local products were not only included in discussions at the summit, but actively showcased and consumed by an international audience.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to creating tangible opportunities for our entrepreneurs,” said the Honourable Samal Duggins, Minister with responsibility for Small Business and Entrepreneurship et al. “We are focused on moving beyond dialogue to action—ensuring that our small businesses are positioned to access and compete in global markets.”

The successful showcasing of Mother Becky Tea Quenchers highlights the quality, innovation, and export readiness of products emerging from St. Kitts and Nevis. It also underscores the importance of strategic partnerships in unlocking new economic pathways for local enterprises.
The Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship et al remains dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs and expanding avenues for trade, as part of its broader vision to strengthen the Federation’s small business sector and drive sustainable economic growth.
