The Acting Commander, Major Kayode Sutton, along with Officers and Ranks of the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) proudly extend congratulations to 2Lt Jelani Griffin on the successful completion of the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course (IBOLC) at the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence, located at Fort Moore, United States of America.
Over the course of nineteen demanding weeks, 2Lt J Griffin successfully completed one of the United States Army’s premier leadership and tactical development programmes designed to prepare junior officers for the responsibilities of leading an Infantry platoon. The course placed heavy emphasis on troop leading procedures, mission planning, tactical decision-making, and the execution of offensive and defensive operations, including live-fire exercises, patrol operations, and complex field training scenarios. Each phase tested tactical competence, physical endurance, and leadership under pressure.

Throughout the training, 2Lt J Griffin demonstrated discipline, resilience, and professionalism while operating in a challenging and competitive multinational training environment. The successful completion of IBOLC reflects both individual commitment and the high professional standards maintained by the SKNDF.
The knowledge and experience gained during the course directly enhance the SKNDF’s operational capability, particularly in small-unit leadership, mission planning, and tactical execution. These competencies strengthen the Force’s readiness to conduct national security operations, support regional engagements, and respond effectively to evolving security challenges. The advanced training also contributes to the continued development of junior leadership within the Force, ensuring that officers are equipped to lead with confidence, competence, and accountability.
This achievement further underscores the importance of international military partnerships and professional military education. Training opportunities such as IBOLC reinforce cooperation, interoperability, and the exchange of best practices between partner nations, ultimately strengthening the collective effectiveness of participating defence forces while advancing the SKNDF’s commitment to excellence in service to the Federation.
