Charlestown, Nevis (Friday, September 15, 2017)- Party Organizer of the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP), Mr. Hensley Daniel has announced this week that a hurricane committee will dispatch food and water supplies to Anguilla on Sunday, September 17, in an effort to assist those displaced by Hurricane Irma.
”The NRP recognizes that it has a pivotal role to play in the development of the country and we take on board the view that all of the people of the islands are our brothers and sisters as we came to the Caribbean on the same ships. We are all tied together in that garment of destiny. As such, when Hurricane Irma destroyed these islands we regard it is our responsibility to respond and respond in tangible ways,” commented Mr. Daniel.
NRP has been mobilizing supplies from the various constituencies’ around Nevis and from friends throughout the Diaspora that have shown a great interest in the recovery efforts of islands hit by Hurricane Irma.
According to Mr. Daniel, “this humanitarian stop” will not be the party’s only trip as the NRP will continue to make additional trips to the damaged islands until the NRP feels that the islands have been restored to normalcy.
Immediately following the passing of Hurricane Irma, Daniel made a clarion call to have the Federal government of St. Kitts- Nevis send supplies immediately and bring homeless Nationals back to the Federation.
“I have not seen enough done and I have not seen any contingency of persons coming home courtesy of the government so as a party, the NRP has taken our party’s small funds and asked the community to help in some real relief efforts for our neighbors who are presently suffering,” commented Mr. Daniel.
Relief efforts are still being accepted and anyone who wants to assist with extra cases of water, bed sheets, used clothes or non- perishable food supplies are welcome to do so by dropping off items at X-petrol gas station in Camps, Nevis or by touching base with Mr. Hensley Daniel at [email protected] or via cell #869 662 5566
