Briana Williams, the young Jamaican sprint star has been issued a reprimand without any period of ineligibility by the independent anti-doping disciplinary panel.

The ruling was handed down at approximately 12:24 pm Jamaica time.

The panel recommends that the World U18 100m and 200m champion undergo another education programme of the anti-doping rules the next time the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission carries out another workshop.

Young Williams tested positive for the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide at the Jamaica National Championships in June after finishing third in the 100m in what was a World U18 record of 10.94s.

The disciplinary hearing commenced on Monday, September 23 and concluded on Tuesday, September 24, without the panel announcing when they will issue a ruling on whether Williams would face any sanction.
